I think I understand that this is mostly the place to sign up for saying, “we’ll host a workshop” but I’m so excited by the Church Alive! theme & the hymn, “Siyahamba!” that I’d like to do a 3 day mini-summit at our church… well, it would be a summit… on a local church scale. Each day would be based on 1 of the chorus lines of the hymn, “Siyahamba!” Like: “we are walking in the light of God” or “we are singing & dancing in the light of God” or “we are praying in the light of God.” I’d love to have TMCYouth’s blessing to do this. we’ll also have the Church Alive! workshop – of course!!! Just embrace it with other Church Alive! wonders during the course of a weekend!! :)

We’ve tried to anticipate your questions in the FAQ link above– appreciate how eager you are!
In the meantime, Jodi, to answer your question, these are locally planned workshops, so it’s up to your group to decide the best way to explore what Church truly is, and how we each can live it more fully.
Also enjoy exploring links to other resources we’ve posted here, as well as ideas shared from recent Workshops. You can also get ideas from past Summit programs (and feel free to use any of the Summit video content). Anyone planning a local workshop is welcome to use these as an aid for planning your own event if it’s helpful to you, but certainly, follow your own inspiration. You can also use other content posted here in the Church Alive site (past Summits, Workshops, Church Experiences, and so on) as a springboard for discussion. You choose as you know your community best!
Visit this page again from time to time as we post new information as it becomes available.
Best,
Tori

Is Judy Wolff’s (Board of Trustee’s) talk going to be posted on the internet?
4. R & C from Canada says:
Thanks you for the wonderful presentation on Solos. We can’t wait to tell our Solo Committee about it, thanks for the great music.
5. David Clark says:
I thoroughly enjoyed the June 4 “Expanding Our Music…” audocast workshop. The Mother Church is fortunate in having such talented people to provide music for our services and workshops. While I still enjoy the traditional music I grew up with in this religion, I realize younger people would be more confortable with musical styles and instruments they are familiar with. We need more younger people to keep this international religious movement going. Actually, I like this newer music as well. Churches however need to make sure they do not violate copyrights as the program and this website advises.
6. Jack Phillips says:
Lovely. Thank you for the great inspiration you are sharing. It is wonderful to be reminded about what is truly important.
7. Kum Fuat, Malaysia says:
Thanks for the webcasts for they remind me of a quote from Rev. Dr. Talmage that Mrs. Eddy used in Miscellaneous Writings pg. 117 that “there are wit, humor, and enduring vivacity among God’s people.”
8. Ginger from Oklahoma says:
Thank you so much for that discussion with the Readers of the The Mother Church. It was so very helpful on many levels. And it was wonderful to hear that the broadcasts are reaching our service men and women all over the world, including in Afghanistan. Thanks again for all you’re doing in Boston to reach out to the world community.
9. Pam in Texas says:
Sandy, I love you! You are saying things I’ve said for years……..why are we doing what we do…it’s not about the numbers sitting in pews.
Speaking of pews…as you did…We recently moved our church and had quite a discussion about what kind of seating we should have. The sign that went across my head was that I had never seen so many people so worried about their backsides!
