Christian Science Hymnal Supplement: German Edition 2010

The Christian Science Publishing Society is pleased to publish the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement—German Edition 2010. We invite you to join with Christian Scientists around the world who are using these new hymns in church services and as inspiration for their healing work. The hymns are presented as an extension to the Christian Science Hymnal and are part of the first additions to the Hymnal that was published in English in 1932 and in German in 1955.

This collection of 12 hymns in German is drawn from the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement: Hymns 430-462 published in English in 2008. This German Edition includes several new musical settings for five of Mrs. Eddy’s poems and five other hymn texts found in the Hymnal. These alternate settings expand our musical palette. Some hymns were written specifically for the Supplement, while some were borrowed from other Christian hymnals. They include musical styles that have not previously been included in our Hymnal and that expand the traditional hymn form.
